We begin at 9:15am with all congregation singing. Students then depart for Sunday School while adults participate in a Humanistic Service. Our program begins at 11:00 am and features a presentation of a Virtual Tour of Old Jewish Boston led by KB member, Dick Bauer. In 1950, there were about 70,000 Jews in Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan. From early in the 20th century through the 1950s, this was the largest Jewish community in New England. Then the Jews moved away, and only traces remain today. For years, Dick Bauer has given bicycle tours of those neighborhoods. In the summer of 2012, 85 cyclists joined Dick and Roberta on a bike tour co-sponsored by KB. You can find out more about that ride here. If you couldn't make it on the bike tour (or if you did, but want to revisit it from the comfort of your chair indoors).
