Welcome Boxes Project
On April 2, the Sunday School classes will decorate and pack welcome boxes for the Home for Little Wanderers (this will be the project's 9th year). Many children in foster care have few things that are their own, and often go without essentials when they move from place to place. The boxes, which contain essentials and toys, are for workers at The Home to give to children as they transition between foster homes. The boxes are for children between ages 5-12.
 
Please look in your closets, perhaps do some light shopping, and bring in supplies (small enough to fit into a shoe box). We will collect items on Sunday, March 5 and Sunday, April 2. When you arrive on those mornings, please drop your items in the former Mifgash room (near the side entrance, across from the welcome table & library). 
 
Items we need:
Empty shoe boxes (we usually get plenty of these, so no need to bring more than 1-2 per household)
 
Essentials: Toothbrushes, toothpaste, nightlight, small flashlight (please include batteries), comb, brush, lip balm, band-aids, hair accessories, small nylon bags, travel size toiletries (lotion, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant etc).
 
Other items: Coloring books, blank notepads, crayons/pencils, fun erasers, playing cards, small toys, plastic animals, stickers, water bottles, compact mirrors...
 
Please do NOT include: breakable or soiled items, food, vitamins, violent toys (e.g. toy guns or action figures with weapons), or items that are too big to fit in a shoe box.
